Sunday April 15 -9 A.M.– This osprey was seen landing on the cell tower and apparently checking out the neighborhood at Libby Hill. Ospreys are rarely seen on the hill since it no large bodies of water are near by. He could just be passing through or perhaps thinking of setting up a nest on the tower. Either way it was very exciting to see.
Also spotted was a Palm Warbler at the pond by the school. There was also a half dozen different warbler calls in the area near the top of the hill this morning. If you like birds check out our guide to birding at Libby Hill. The next two months will feature the widest diversity of birds for the whole year. Please note logging has closed the Outback trail and half of the Harold Libbey trail until mid May.
