How can you make your posts more engaging? Photos!!
Upload a photo? – For most posts, you can upload and insert a photo directly from the post or page edit window. Look for the Upload/Insert icon just above your content editing tools. Click on the tool, then locate the image you’d like to upload from your computer. Be sure to fill in the Title, Alternate Text, Caption, Description, and Link URL as appropriate. Title is required. Alternate text allows sight impaired web visitors to read about the photo and improves our site’s accessibility rating. Captions will be included just below the photo/image when it is inserted into your post/page. The link can be used to take the site visitor to a full size version of the image OR can be used to link to another page or file.
|Alt text for the image, e.g. “The Mona Lisa”|
All uploaded images can be found – and edited if need be – in the Media Library. Look for “Media” in the dashboard menu on the left of the page.
Once an image has been uploaded to the media library, it can be selected for insertion on other pages throughout the site. Again, start with the Upload/Insert icon above the text editing area. This time, though, choose “Media Library” from the set of tabs at the top of the upload/insert window. Find the image you would like to use and click “show”.
