Helping Gray become a healthy, vibrant, and sustainable community

Investing in Our Future

Gray Community Endowment is invested with the Maine Community Foundation to create a permanent fund. Some of the interest earned is given to nonprofits and local groups for projects benefiting the town of Gray, and some is reinvested to help the fund grow.

Gray Community Endowment (GCE) was formed in 2001 to seek and direct charitable donations to benefit the people of Gray. It is an independent, tax-exempt organization with an all-volunteer board drawn from the community. They are committed to making Gray a better place to live through investing in recreational facilities, the arts, and education. GCE can support efforts sponsored by other groups or help to develop new opportunities when needed.

GCE has been highly instrumental in the creation and support of Libby Hill Forest Trails. Visit the GCE website for more information.

Some trails are now open. Dedicated Mountain Bike trails remain closed. Partial open trails are Lynx, Harold Libbey, and Moose Odyessey. Closed trails are Turkey Trot, Holmquist Hollow, Ghost. Fully Open are Outback and Deer Run.
