For over 15 years a group of anonymous trail workers have improved wet spots on the Outback Trail. They are at it again with work on the last remaining problem area. Over the next few weeks they will be adding stones underneath the trail tread to allow better drainage. They top this with some locally mined sand and gravel. There are better positioned steppingstones of the water crossing and once completed it will be drier for bikers and hikers in all seasons.
They also plan to improve a switchback climb up the hill beyond the wet area.
Thanks to these volunteers who have donated so many hours to make the Outback a wonderful experience!
