Perfect Weather for a Perfect Race!

One hundred seventy racers participated in the Longest Day 5K at Libby Hill. After weeks of gloomy weather, the evening was perfect with a temperature around 72 degrees. It was also fitting that the winner of the race was Carter Libby of Gray at 18:07 claiming the hill that bears his forefather’s name. In the women’s division Rowan Barry finished at 22:18. All race results are here.

Special thanks to: Ed and Beverly Doughty, Pineland Farms, Maine Wildlife Park, Birchwood Brewing, Gray Shop and Save, Gray Hannaford, Town of Gray, Race Volunteers, and especially John Keller for his coordination of the entire event!

Libby Hill Trails continues to be closed. Lots of trail work has made progress but wet conditions and chipping needs may delay opening until after April 30th.
