GCE, Town of Gray, SAD 15 Enter Maintenance Agreement for Libby Hill Trails

The three landowners of Libby Hill trails have come to a formal agreement (MOU) to better coordinate trail maintenance schedules and costs. This will translate into better planning for trail work and ensure that Libby Hill Trails continue to be well managed. Thanks go to Sandra Carder who helped finalize the agreement after long negotiations between landowners. Her efforts made this agreement a reality!

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is the result of a year’s long effort to create a partnership between the three owner entities which will allow for the creation of an updated Forestry Management Plan, a long-term maintenance plan and fully developed Capital Investment Plan. Over the next 12 months, the entities will work to collect information and formalize a long-term plan. This collaborative effort will take full advantage of the robust and dedicated volunteers who have supported and maintained the Trail System for decades. Existing resources and equipment from the Town and School District will be utilized to help make maintenance more cost effective and efficient. This collaboration will ensure the longevity of this extremely valuable Gray-New Gloucester asset preserving it for future generations. None of this would have been possible without the generosity of the families and residents who have donated land, money, and time to secure a legacy for all to enjoy and that will live on permanently.

No Hunting at Libby Hill Trails but still wear orange in November.
